Flooring
Flooring
We are thinking of replacing all the floor tiles throughout our villa. Clearly cost of tiles depends on many factors, but can anyone give me an indication of cost to rip up old and replace new in terms of labour per sq metre.... There is around 250sq metres
Thx

Re: Flooring
We recently did this as part of a larger renovation. I looked back through the quote and the demolition and disposal of the old flooring was EUR7.00/sq. mtr. Installation along with the purchase of the stone (creme marfil) was Eur61/sq. mtr.
Re: Flooring
Thank you Traveler. With your renovation did you also look at replacement windows?

Re: Flooring
No, the house already had new windows. We also added on and purchased new windows for the addition. We went to MetaloAlgoz.
Re: Flooring
Hi Jonboy,
If you want windows I can recommend a company that I used in Tunes, family business, they did a great job at almost half the price that I had quotes for, if you are in Carvoeiro next week you are more than welcome to see what I have had done.

Hi Aron,
Unfortunately not there again until mid June. Security is key for us so they have to robust construction. How quick did they take from acceptance of quote to installation. can Iask approox how many windows / you had replaced?

Hi Jonboy,
The security is good. They took about 8 days to start the work ,I was in no rush so they did it in stages, however all the main 8 windows were fitted in 1 day and shutters done later, the price included shutters.Window sizes, 2x. 2mx2m. 2x. 1.2mx2m. 4x. 1.1mx1.0m.
1x. 1.0mx1.3m. 4x. 1.0mx.5m. 2x. 1.0mx.8m.
Inc Mossi nets and 1 Ali front door.
2x. .4m dia round windows
Great price, good service, the services around Carvoeiro are double in price.

That's what's great about this Forum - people helping people with good honest advice and guidance.
It all works well until those with dishonest intentions muscle in - the name Day or is it Mazza springs to mind - at least we are all on our guard now

shanagarry. (and anyone else involved with this)
yes i agree that this a good forum for alerting people to dishonest business practices but i would ask you to be clearer with your assumptions that all people with the surname 'DAY' are therefore dishonest...
i have a 'successful' and 'honest' business that i have run here for many years now as a resident so please be clear with your future accusations and do not brand all people called 'DAY' as criminals...
thankyou.
