Having problems
Having problems
I'm having problems with the house buying process before I've even started.
I realised it would be a little more difficult and more expensive to buy a property in Portugal, but I've bought in the UK several times and I'm not exactly stupid.
However, I am stuck at the beginning, finding it difficult to find a lawyer or mortgage lender!
Is there anyone who has bought a Portuguese property for holiday purposes/as a second property who can point me in the direction of good services or recommend anyone to me?
If you can offer me any advice at all I would be grateful. Please send me an email or private message.
Thank you very much.

Hi Debs G, these posts/topics have a way of dropping quickly down the list don’t they… ….especially when one is seriously wanting some serious advise……I wish I could help you with this one, but cant really…..except to bring it back to the top…..and to suggest you also post it on the ‘property owners forum’ here…..boa sorte…
Thanks Digger
I have had some responses which have been very helpful, so thanks for the replies.
It seems that some lawyers want to charge something like 5 times what I would pay for the same service to buy a house over here. I don't want to get ripped off! But at the same time I do want a good service, especially as I can't read Portuguese (yet!)
I will also post on the other forum.
Thank you!
