Hi

Does anyone know how the economy faired in CVO after the end of last season e.g. tourist figures, property rentals R.P.I etc and what was the feelings of the business people in the Town. Please correct me if i am wrong, but will it be this Summer that the effect of the recession should really show? This is the first year in a long time, that we have not actually booked up for CVO yet, am i in the minority?

Hi,

Well from a rental point of view we found that it was nowhere near as bad as we thought it was going to be. Yes occupancy was down and more people were looking for discounts but overall it wasn't too horrendous.
This year is actually looking much better than last year. Bookings are up and we hope that we will be full for the summer in the next few weeks.

There will always be accommodation available but my advice is that if you have a favourite place to stay or a specific time of year you are looking for, I would contact the company or people you deal with and ask them what they think.

I agree with AVO last year was not as bad as many thought it would be and this years bookings are certainly up.

We only have the beginning of July left to fill otherwise booked from June until mid sept.

Car rentals are well up from last year yet there will be fewer cars on the market as the big companies are not renewing fleets. It is therefore more than likely that last years difficulties in July and August will repeat or there may be price hikes. Please be sure to book asap.
