M80 will probably suit your needs, great oldies and very few adverts.

106.1 FM Faro or 107.1 FM Portimao (the old Nostalgia frequencies)

Didn't Radio Nostalgia disappear a few years ago? I have certainly not been able to find it for three years at least.

Shame really because it's output was perfect for those of us of a certain age - i.e popular chart music of the 50's and 60's.

The last season I can remember it operating, I taped an hour of it on a radio/cassette player. Play it now and then for my own little piece of Algarvian 'nostalgia'.

Sounds like Gambrinus has the answer with his M80 suggestion - when we're out in May we will hit the 'seek' button and look for it.

Most modern hire cars now have radios with station names displayed instead of just the frequency, so it is easier to tell which one you are listening to, even if it's a Portuguese language station.

Algarve = RACAL FM & frequencies are : 91.8 / 92.4 /93.7
with Ian Reddin.....
I met Ian at a book signing at the Dog show at Fatacil 2006.....where member Martin was so very helpful....organising a very nice placard for me to advertise my book.

Hope its still working / the radio station that is :)
