It will rain on and off until the 12th March, when it will disappear for a week then return.

That wouldn't happen to co-incide with Cheltenham would it Sam?
Just hope it doesn't snow here for that week

Hi Cereza, yep, sure is Cheltenham time again, I intend watching in the sunshine this year,(a word in the Portuguese weather gods ear hole has confirmed this), pint of Guinness in one hand and a betting slip in the other, I wonder if Harry the horse is still around? Should be meeting up with Col and the lads as well.

meantime on "Planet Algarve" I saw something very strange yesterday, something blue appeared in the sky and a bright yellow ball appeared and yes amazing it was so bright you could feel its heat!!!!!!!!!

does anyone know what it might be?

Thanks Cereza, I will post up a few of my selections for Cheltenham before I depart these shores. However, (and I have said this before) it is notoriously difficult to make money during the festival, and stakes should be kept to a minimum. Two 33/1 winners last year paid for my trip to Carvoeiro with a few bob left over and the chances of it happening again this year are pretty remote. We shall see, funny enough I have been following the Irish racing for the last couple of months, and it seems everything that Willie Mullins sends out wins, happy days as it has already paid for this years trip and hopefully he will manage a few winners at Cheltenham. Watch this space, I am expecting some half decent tips from Col and Elvis as well, (its about time they earned their keep). Don't suppose you can make it out for a few days, I'll have a large pint of Guinness waiting for you should you appear. One of Nicky Henderson's big Cheltenham hopes, Zaynar, got turned over yesterday at odds of 1/14 - kinda makes you glad you didn't have an anti post bet on it. - anyway back to the weather, still raining???

Sam I know only too well from bitter experience how tough it is at Cheltenham so rest assured I am under no delusions Any help is always most welcome and you can't beat a bit of info swapping.
I would love to be in the sun while watching the best races of the year but I don't think I can make it this year. I'll just have to watch from here in the cold and think of you out there hopefully in the sun.

On my last visit to Cheltenham, I swear that ice was forming on the foam on top of the " balck stuff ".
