Problems returning YOR cars in P4 at Faro

Just a warning to drivers returning hire cars at Faro airport.

On attempting to enter P4 car park to drop the car off we were unable to enter the car park as the allocated spaces for YOR car hire were full, this seemed to also be happening to other car hire companies.

It took a number of phone calls before they picked up the car keys which delayed us by 40 mins.

We don't wait if no one is around when we return the cars, I send them a text with the car no and our name and let them know it is in the car park, we tend to park either in G or H or somewhere close and let them know where the car is.

Seems to work for us, not had a problem so far.

All the hire car companies have this problem, they only have so many spaces allocated and when these are full the system " rejects " new arrivals.
It has happened to us at least 8 times with 3 different companies.

It happens a lot "out of season" as there are more cars not being used and the normal storage areas on the approach to the airport are full. We just park it on the rd near the entrance and exit, put the keys under the seat and call them. Never been a problem with it.

Never ever had this problem when returning cars to Row A (luzcar.com) and we have been using them regularly during differing times of the year over the last 6 years. Just returned last Tuesday and experienced no problems.

I've never had a problem with Row H and YOR cars, although it was a bit of a squeeze last time. I'm going to allow an extra few minutes just in case tomorrow.

Well as I said we have also never had a problem, just leave the keys on top of the sun visa and off you go if they are not there, just send a text with the time you have returned the car. I have always done this when no one is about for YOR.

with YORCAR we dont even send a text, just leave it and walk away! Brilliant.

We do that too with YOR, just leave keys and go into the airport

I leave the car in row H with Airauto (economycarrentals) and they always have someone waiting to take the car from me. Have used them all last year (half a dozen times) and not had any problems at all.
