Who nicked my sign?

Post by BobT »

Having just spent some earned euros on some smart signs directing potential customers to my bike hire business, I find that after one week, they've been removed.

I've heard that maybe the Camara do this if you don't have permission. Anybody had theirs confiscated or otherwise removed?

Seems a bit petty to me whoevr is respsonsible. There are plenty of signs directing people to the Camara office and many other establishments, and the sign police don't seem to bother them.

Probably the Camara, I have been told that you need permission for the advert? Sign. I have a removable sign and that only for rooms available. Otherwise they come in the dead of night and nick it...

Bob,
here in portugal you must request a requisition form to request the placements of signs or adverts. These must be submitted in triplicate to the Camera, the Junta de Freguesia, the local dog kennels als well as the old fisherman sitting by the big rock on the beach. :? :x

Its a headache, but you have to get the signs authorized. I would start by talking to the junta de Freguesia in Carvoeiro as I beleive they are responsable for signs.

yes you need a licence to put up a sign....more weeks of work...one man in silves waited 2 years for his licence to put the name outside his shop...he went to silves camara to get the licence..got it ..went home..got his ladders out....and within 20 minutes a silves camara official arrived to check what he was doing!

some foriegners with bars have resorted to parking their cars by the side of the road with the direction signs on the roof

for those who think business is simple here...yet another indication of what my accountant told me..the camaras dont like buisness here..hence they make it as difficult as possible

I beleive there is a difference with advertising on the building and signs on the road - I am quite sure that building adverts are Lagoa camara but the road signs may well be the Junta in Carvoeiro
