Easy Jet Check in

Post by jonboy »

Have EJ changed their on line check in procedures viz a vis the boarding groups and hold baggage drop offs?

I read that they have now abolished the A and B groupings at certain airports so it is now speedy board, assisted and then everyone else to join the scrum? Has anyone travelled EJ out of LGW recently ?

That's what I read. I guess they are seeing yet more revenue opportunity by creating dissatisfaction with the scrum boarding methodology hoping that people will buy SB.

We flew in and out of Bristol last week and we still had group A when checking in on line, same at usual at Bristol at the moment.

Scrum Boarding is not EJ ,s fault but that of us the customers , all those numpties who like to hold seats for friends, or those who are too superior to have anyone sat next to them or stand in the ailse for 10 mins thinking about where to sit.

We the general public are the problem !!!

Totally agree EMM. I find it so frustrating when you see several middle seats empty with Mr and Mrs Pompous sitting either side whilst people struggle to find a two seats together thus delaying the boarding process and endangering slot times which I have been on many EJ flights where if the flight is not full the flight attendants will tell passengers this fact and encourage the people to spread out, but they should equally discourage the likes of Mr and Mrs P to protect their space on busy flights.

Just plonk yourself in the middle and then spend the entire flight talking to them about the embarrassing itch you just can't get rid of! 8)

I think you still get A if you do speedy board. Everyone else who checks in normally comes after that.

I have just checked in for my next trip from Stansted to Faro & return. You are no longer allocated to group A but instead to group 2. It remains to be seen what group 2 is comprised of.

However, as overbooking has never been an issue with Easyjet and I don't care where I sit I never understand the mad rush and fighting for position that normally takes place.

Easyjet has launched an online facility for passengers to check in hold baggage. Seemingly 94 airports have this facility. We have just checked in our hold baggage from Glasgow and have been allocated boarding group 2. Don't know how the boarding priority will work.

EAsy Jet plus, speedy boarding , special assistance and then parents with young children ( under 5 ? ), then on line check in ( hand luggage only ) Then the rest. thats how it seems to work.
