New Years Eve

Post by sanreen »

Does anyone know if there is going to be any entertainment in the square or fireworks at the beach on New Years Eve.

As the beach entertainment in Albufeira is not too impressive this year we may stay in the village but we certainly miss the incredible firework displays that you get to there.

Where locally can you get a good view of the Portimao display and avoid the crowds ??

I believe the best display site is on the top of the cliffs on the breakwater (by the lighthouse - past the Casabela)) There is now a new car park as well

Last year there was 1 Firework from what I can remember, year before we were at a party so cannot comment, year before there were lots of people and a few Fireworks, but nothing exciting, and the square cleared within about 15 mins and everyone went back to where they had been, Taste having party, 35 Euros, 10 courses, Champagne, Disco, think Mungos having Disco, usually no charge.

Bar Talvez are for sure open and will be busy - they recently had a 70's Saturday disco night which was successful and a huge amount of fun. There was talk of that being repeated during the festive season and may well be held on New Year's Eve.
