Christmas and new year?
Christmas and new year?
Hi all
I seem to ask the same every year at this time.
What is everyone doing at christmas and new year, where are you going and who will you be with?
We will be in Portugal having Christmas dinner in our apartment. My son has booked to go skydiving on 28 Dec and we will be at Columbo's on new years eve. Other than that we will have a very relaxing break.
PS I hope the weathers better than last year.

Re: Christmas and new year?
We have friends from Sweden and their two boys ( 9 and 13 ) staying with us over Christmas.
New Year could be spent in a darkened room with a suitable sedative.
Past years we have gone to ALbufeira for the fireworks and concerts on the Beach but depending who is performing may stay in the village this year.

Re: Christmas and new year?
Xmas Day this year will be spent by the beach in Lyme Regis and a choice, yet not made of either;
1) Lunch at the Harbour Inn overlooking the harbour.
2) Lunch and overnight stay at The Bridge House Hotel in Beaminster.
Both booked for hedging bets.
New Year a pub crawl around Lyme Regis and I shall cook something scrumtious for us to eat before we go out, fireworks on the beach.
New Years Day, in bed, with a bowl in a darkened room, groaning, 'never again'
Richard will be bright and sunny and off playing golf.

Join the CVO Ramblers for a New Year's Eve walk at 1000. See CVO page.
We will no doubt be at the Jailhouse that evening.

Re: Christmas and new year?
Xmas at home with Parents, sisters, kids etc then off to CVO and arrive early Wed 30th til Sun 3rd Jan.New Years eve booked A Gale for 7pm then no doubt just have a few ales to bring in the New Year....would be nice if there were some fireworks etc but failing that I'll just have to get fooo.
It is supposed to be 4 of us at New Year but my partners Mothers partner has been very ill since August and spent a month in hospital and has been out for about 7 weeks now and although his goal was to make new yeat in CVO it is looking highly unlikely.
I have offered the spots to my Mum and Dad,we discussed it last night and my old man was well up for it then I asked him if their passports were okay (they don't travel much)....they go 'out of date' May 2010 so they will need to get organised if they are going to make it!!Downside is we are travelling Ryanair so £100 each for them to change the bloody name!!
That ramble hike may be a plan,I could well fancy that, will need to check that thread out!

Re: Christmas and new year?
We will spend Christmas freeloading on our various kids
(Yes after nearly 30 years, Julia has put her foot down and said enough is enough......you lot look after us for once!!)......possibly the same for the new year, then on the 4th of January pack up the car and drive down to Carvoeiro until April or May.
Re: Christmas and new year?
Michael are you talking about the walk or the Jailhouse? Thought you were meeting up with us?
