Re: O Rodizio- Vale de Lapa
I would just like to say that I have throughly enjoyed reading this thread, it has made me laugh and has in fact made me join the forum. I would like to add my voice to snaj's opinions and say well said snaj.
Re: O Rodizio- Vale de Lapa
SNaj doesn't have opinions, he has an opinion.
Re: O Rodizio- Vale de Lapa
Welcome to the forum Swanky. I'm glad somebody agrees with some of the things
I say.
I'm also happy that you have enjoyed reading this thread and it has made you laugh.
I have enjoyed writing on here.
I have to give a 'Big Up' to FMM though, as this thread wouldn't have been as half
as funny without his comments.
.....
I just hope he doesn't knock my lights out if our paths cross. I'm a pacifist and a very quick one
with a pair of Nikes on

I'm delighted that it was only the nirovirus at the Fat Duck as we had salmonella from CVO in 2004.
I am glad you speak as you find but what fun it has been. The nearest to an authentic Portuguese meal has to be Boneca in CVO. Please keep writing.

Unlikely to knock your lights out as I am an 8 stone weakling and female.
Shows again how you make assumptions and are far from correct!

Wow. Passions can run high on a forum. Whilst I was under the impression a forum was for like minded people exchanging information I have enjoyed the "banter" on this link.
I will be a first time visitor to CVO at Easter 2010 and I have already done some research as we like to eat out as well as cooking for ourselves. I know what you are thinking....travelling in March 2010 and already planning meals out!!! There's nothing like being prepared.
Using the Carvoeiro.com site and various external links together with information on this forum I have determined I will be visiting the :- Ele & Ela, Primavera, Marisqueira and Vila Nova. Plus a trip to Benagil and Antonio's and Bernards Brasserrie. I have obviously not eaten at any of these but have done extensive research (sad I know). I will post my verdict on any or even all of them in April 2010.
We are all different and have different levels of expectation from what we want from a meal out. There are many contributing factors that go towards an enjoyable evening. I do eat out a lot and I will enjoy a fine meal this evening at Zumar, a fine Eastern Mediterranian Restaurant in my home time as we celebrate my son's 21st.

Re: O Rodizio- Vale de Lapa
Think this whole banter is ridiculous as you are comparing apples and oranges. We all know that the CVO restaurants produce fresh local food and do not attempt to be a Waterside (my son in law worked there many years ago). I also wouldn't compare anything to the The Fat Duck, after the big closure! I don't think that any of us go to CVO for the food alone and we all find our favourite places to eat. In the end fresh local produce is the best you can have.

Re: O Rodizio- Vale de Lapa
I wonder who swanky delamore is could be?
Re: O Rodizio- Vale de Lapa
ANYWAY, as usual subjects on this forum ALWAYS end up in slanging matches about nothing to do with original subject. Rodizio was good, very friendly couple running it, tried to eat there at least once per week - Gina and Joao were sad to go but the rent was ridiculous!! Some landlords are not realistic when it comes to business surely it is better to have someone in a property working than yet another empty property!
Re: O Rodizio- Vale de Lapa
Suzie Bear,
Thanks. It was my favourite place in Sesmarias/ Carvoeiro, and an absolutely fabulous couple who ran it.
If you ever hear of them opening somewhere else please let me know.
Regards
Snaj
