What a wonderful place

Recently returned from a holiday in Carvoeiro and must say it's the nicest place I've ever been - not the best food experiences if I'm honest, but lovely people, gorgeous trustworthy weather, lively atmosphere yet not rowdy, plenty to do, beautiful scenery... I've been back at home for about 3 days now and still have very bad holiday blues, which is strange for me! Want to come back as soon as possible because it truely felt like home there, more so than back here in England, where not so many people are smiling.....!

Glad you had a lovely time Ukander.....I find Carvoeiro a cosy place where everything is within reach and ideal for families.

When we came back (first & second time after living there), we found folk not so friendly in UK. I was so used to being kissed and shaking hands that I felt quite forlorn and missed the friendly Portuguese...

but now we have the house up for sale and the plan is to retire back again to Algarve.

Glad you love the place - there is much to love (including the food). I have just had my sister and husband over who are used to eating at places such as The Fat Duck, the Waterside and the French Horn and going on expensive cruises all over the world. They had a great time and were mega impressed with the food. Check out the Eatalgarve website that is on the front page of the Carvoeiro.com website - that should help you next time you come out.

I know how you feel! We came home on Thursday after two fantastic weeks in a great villa off restaurant hill. 11 adults and 3 toddlers - brilliant!
We had lovely meals at Happy's and Villa Medici and really enjoyed happy hour at Havana Bar. I want to go back there NOW!
