Re: Supermarkets
Thanks folks.
Much appreciated.

Re: Supermarkets
There is an alternative route from Sesmarias. Take the turn for Gramacho, opposite the water tower, and follow the signs for Lagoa. This takes you straight to the Pau de Acucar roundabout, without going on the N125, and you miss out the traffic lights.
Re: Supermarkets
we always use Pao de Acucar , great fresh fish, fruit & veg, plenty of room to manoeuvre and cheaper than Intermarche, if they just increased the wine selection a little it would be perfect!!
Re: Supermarkets
Agree about the wine selection, surprisng considering the range of other items.

Re: Supermarkets
I know its probably a bit of an ask, but is there anyway that someone can mark these supermarkets on a map (google maps maybe) so that its easy for people to find or put into a satnav?
Thanks
Simon
Thanks
Simon
Re: Supermarkets
Sorry Simon, but I am old fashioned and prefer to drive around with my eyes open.
Carvoeiro/Lagoa is hardly central london. leave your sat nav and home and enjoy the drive and experience of occaisionally taking the wrong turn and finding somewhere you did not know about.
You are on holiday enjoy it.

Re: Supermarkets
The google map is so out of date that anything built in the last 5 years will not be on it.

Re: Supermarkets
I agree with what your saying Emm but I thought it would be really helpful information especially if you have just arrived and need to stock up with food at the beginning of your holiday. The last thing some people want is to be driving round looking for a place just to get food for the week.EMM wrote:Sorry Simon, but I am old fashioned and prefer to drive around with my eyes open.

Re: Supermarkets
Maybe but it gives you a reference point on a map of where to go. You dont need to use the sattelite image just the map.EMM wrote:The google map is so out of date that anything built in the last 5 years will not be on it.
Re: Supermarkets
True but they are all very easy to find, miss one and you will soon find another.

Re: Supermarkets
I was thinking as people are suggesting decent supermarkets and which ones to possibly avoid because they are too expensive or have a lack of variety. It would help people choose which one they want to head for instead of just going out and travelling longer then they need to to find a supermarket and wasting time on there holiday searcing for supermarkets.

Re: Supermarkets
Looks like Lagoa Adega to me. There is no Modelo in Lagoa anymore, if you call all the supermarkets that exist in the area by their old names you have no chance of finding them by any means, maps, sat nav etc.
