DRUGS

Post by joanne »

Well, had a bit of a shock last week, I have often heard stories about Drugs, but have now been offered them first hand.....

We had all been in Mungos and the Foam party was on, and had been told by the Taxi man to wait by the Bins as he would not let wet people in the Taxi, first 3 went and we waited for him to come back, when out of nowhere I was tapped on the shoulder by a young man who opened his hand with about 6 tablets in it, "would you like some Drugs" I told him to go away, he then asked me if my Daughters would like some....Antonio from the Roundup was passing in a Taxi and stopped and gave us a lift home.

I do not want to start saying the Village is bad etc as I love it and know you can get Drugs anywhere this is just a reminder that you need to keep your wits about especially in the Evening.

Antonio from the Round Up...a carvoeiro legend in our eyes!

You should have got Big Will over from the Round Up; he'd have given him a good slap! We're over in Sept, if we get approached i'll give 'em a good slap!

You really should not be shocked, where there are kids you will find this problem.
CVo is a holiday town in a holiday area and as in most of Europe, even in the smallest English village drugs are sadly now part of the leisure scene.

20 years ago I told family to warn their children about this problem, they said "No Not in Carvoeiro", so nothing changes!!

Very unfortunately, I think you will find that the problem is more widespread than you think and amongst the more respectable folk around town.

What was the foam party like Joanne - many people there? Do you know if they still run into September?

It seems quieter around Sullys - or am I wrong?

I am far to old for the foam party I was just waiting for a Taxi, and had been told to wait further up the Road, as the Taxis will not pick anyone up who has been in the foam as it ruins the leather on the seats, been told runs till middle of Sept, out again next week so will check it out for you.

The new road system makes it too dangerous for crowds to gather outside of Sullys even if the GNR were to allow it.

They still pile of Sully's and spill onto the square and beach at about 4am, GNR couldn't care less and nor can Sully's. It's a problem and not only Sully's

Well here I go again, I love the Village, bought a Villa there etc, but the Drug man is about in the day, this is just another warning for everyone...........

My 18 year old Daughter, friend and a Boy of 18 they met were offered drugs at 6 o clock in the Eve last week, they told him to go away, but he kept following them up the Hill until the Boy told him to get lost more firmly, about 8 the same eve we all walking up to Happys and we saw the same man selling again to a group of English all about 20 and very, very drunk, it was the same man who stopped me last year, he tall Gypsey very dark and thin always wears a Black leather jacket.

My Daughter and friends were sensible and sober so walked away, but thoses others could be buying anything, it was light early eve and everyone was staring, so please warn your youngsters, we have been warned by our local friends and warned the girls.

Still love the Village etc, and I am aware that it goes on everywhere before I get shouted at, just a little warning.

Hi jo - they should call the GNR as soon as the guy approaches them and they recognise him. They should report it to the GNR anyway - they dont want these guys hanging around anyway.

Yes we should have but to be honest we were with a few friends and 3 of the girls were under 12 so we just tried to ignore it, if I see him again I will try and get a picture, sure most people will have seen him round the village he spends the summer on the BEACH as soon as it gets dark hanging round the rocks, boys the girls are friendly with who live in the Village pointed him out to them years ago, he has a young boy about 11 with him in the summer who he sends over to chat, then he comes over, think we all just need to be aware as we all let our guard down.
