Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
We ate here early last week and were surprised at the choices on the menu. The restaurant area was very quiet with a few people in the bar area downstairs. The food was really good and very different. The meal cost about 45 euros for the cover which was four very tasty dips, five different main meals, one sweet and a bottle of house white. Will certainly be going back again when we are over in July.
Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
Was the price quoted for one person? If so sounds a bit steep.

Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
gary and I really enjoyed our evening at Taste. Food annd service was really good and not your run of the mill Tapas either. Had various fish dishes including some pretty tasty oysters to start then went on to try out some meet dishes.
Some thought had really gone into this to make is different with the House wine being really tasty (so was the waiter, sorry had to put that in) If Bruce is catching up on this thread, Kim has the Champers on ice for you ready for your next visit.
5 fish Tapas, salad, bread and 3 meat dishes plus house wine and coffee euros 49.50 for the two of us.
We will def. go back and try out the rest of the Tapas menu. Bumped into Roy4eyes and Carol who took our photo at the restaurant, so if pic has turned out ok we could be in the next News letter
..blimey

Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
We paid our second visit to Taste last night, had another great meal, so much choice and different to what else is on offer from other traditional restaurants. With several courses - meat, fish and veggie, pre dinner drinks, and house wine cost just a nudge over 25€ a head - was all enjoyed sitting on outside terrace.
it was busy we had to book
Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
Could someone please tell me if this is the same restaurant which used to have the parrot sitting outside? thanks
Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
No ,its on the other side of the road. The parrot is still in the place you mentioned, well it was 16 months ago.Its had poor reviews, however, we popped in once and it seemed fine and the courtyard is lovely for a quiet coffee and time to read during the day.

Perhaps, hee hee. Sorry, I meant to say the parrot was still there 16 months ago. The venue has had poor reviews. Maybe, someone could give it a visit again and see what the place is like now.and of course check up on the parrot.
Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
Just back and had 2 really good Evenings in Taste, the food service, it is all just perfect, you def need to book if you want to sit outside as is very small, they have now started closing on a Monday.
Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
Typical we went there on monday because it was one of the few better places open.
Close in high season, that makes good business sense doesn,t it.
It may just be an impression but I do not see the family run Portuguese places turning away customers.

Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
We were told that as kim runs one place and Harold Ele and Ela they close both on Mondays as they would never see each other...Think as well they are both so popular they need a night of
Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
Can understand this when its quiet but not in high season, business can,t be that bad.
We have portuguese aquaintances who don,t take a day off for most of the summer as they know earnings will be very low in the winter.

Re: TASTE (used to be Medina)
Yes agree think they are that popular and busy they can afford to have the night of, same as the other really popular ones like Happys and Maximes, good luck to them
