Friday evening in Carvoeiro
Friday evening in Carvoeiro
Some people may have already heard, but Carvoeiro has organised a showing of the film Mamma Mia on a big screen on the beach due to start at 10pm this Friday (26th June). No news as yet on the 'official inauguration'!
Re: Friday evening in Carvoeiro
Sounds a fab idea, hope it is well represented with no adverse problems.
Wish we were able to be present.

Shame that they've chosen to show such a crap film though.
Re: Friday evening in Carvoeiro
I think that is a great movie to show on a beach. It should be lots of fun and I wouldn't be surprised if there'll be lots of people dancing along with those great ABBA tunes. Wish I could be there!

I thought I'd never say this, but I really enjoyed this film. I was even singing along with the songs! It's a great choice for mass beach-viewing - everyone knows the words to the songs so it should be a great atmosphere.blue wrote:Shame that they've chosen to show such a crap film though.
There goes my street cred!
Re: Friday evening in Carvoeiro
I think it's got the right atmosphere for an open air beach movie - it's set in a beachside location, the songs are catchy and everyone knows them - I'm just sorry that it's unlikely that I'll be up to going
Re: Friday evening in Carvoeiro
OH NO !!!!!. will have to go to P Nights early before being dragged down to the Beach.
Re: Friday evening in Carvoeiro
great idea...my girls will love it if they do it in August, does anybody know what the plans are for any entertainment?
Re: Friday evening in Carvoeiro
I think it a great idea although iam a closet ABBA fan, i hope this will be an ongoing theme films, world cup games etc.

You never had any in the first placeMichael Crane wrote: ... There goes my street cred!
Will this be a regular thing - weekly or whatever - does anyone know? If so, lets hope they're not all "Chick Flics". Earlier showings could be Ice Age (1,2 or 3), Night at the Museum etc for the kids ... something manly for the fellas later on
Re: Friday evening in Carvoeiro
I like ABBA, just can't stand this film, I'd never seen such rubbish. Now if they were showing the French & Saunders version that would be different.
I think most of the films will be 'chick flicks' they'll want to show films that the whole family can watch. I can't see them showing films like 'Saving Private Ryan' on the beach.

Ah well, one persons rubbish is another's treasure, yes you have to suspend reality, but I think it's fun
