Re: The new square
I mustn't get too excited but Gary, did I spy some red flower troughs in the first pic?
Can't say as I like the rest of the layout though....where are the trees?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the red flower troughs are traffic cones as such

Re: The new square
Not sure that the Square is ready for seats yet
Nasty smell of sewerage as we walked through this evening.
I know they've had this problem before, and solved it. Lets hope they do so again - whoever "they" may be

Oh dear Richard..that doesn't sound too good
Some trees & flowers, seats. would pretty it up..at the moment it looks rather like a landing strip..

Re: The new square
Looking at the webcams and pictures from today , getting in the mood for our return next week.
Could not believe how quiet it looks also the square is being spoilt by the obvious traffic marks.
Do the posts placed on the inside of the current routing indicate that it will not return to the old route past metabixo ??
Good to see that posts have been placed along side the road down from CVO to dircet traffic away from outside of Sullys and the icecreamparlour.

Re: The new square
Ellie I thought the same thing when I first saw the new look square, it does look like a landing strip. Like you I want trees for prettiness & shade & flowers for colour, would make a big difference.
Re: The new square
Think it is too soon to for all the negative comments, it's obvious it is unfinished, if it's like any of the other areas that have been re-vamped trees, seats etc are the last to be put in place. Everyone's a critic

Re: The new square
I thought the same when they re-vamped the approach to, and the area around Centiannes Beach. Nothing seemed to be happening very slowly. We were sure that it wouldnt be finished, then literally the week before the season proper started, there was a flurry of effort, and the result was very good.
Let's hope the same applies here??

Re: The new square
It all looks rather plain to me and not a pretty sight....fingers crossed the trees & plants & seats are put in soon....anyway, hasn't 'the season' started already?

Re: The new square
True.....I was trying to be up-beat and optimistic
Re: The new square
Well when I am actually 'there' with the sea and cliff backdrop I just see how much has been done. According to a meeting with residents and business owners a few weeks ago they hoped to finish for the season starting 20th June.
