Re: Info from parents of teenagers
unfortunately this is happening just about everywhere, no matter where you go doesn't matter what age you are either.
I remember Gary going down to Smilers bar to watch his Pompey team play Manu U (I think that was the team) and just becasue they scored and he cheered them on. Some famly (two male members) started on him, their kids where there to witness this,I remember posting on here about it. Course my Gaz didn't have in Welsh Bodicia there to back him up at the time. I think when that happens best to walk away quickly, especially when there's a few of them who'd been drinking most of the afternoon.
As regards drugs, Gary and I were in Lisbon with two of our boys a couple of years ago and both my son and I were approached by dealers on the main drag in the Baiax area....... The choice is better here in Holland

Similar situation a few years back Gaynor, a big burly bloke from Yorkshire I was talking to in the Safari Bar was extolling the virtues and benefits of the ‘’best bloody place int bloody world’’ which, according to him was Sheffield, when I asked him what was he doing in Carvoeiro if it was so great, he tried to kill me.Gary/Gaynor wrote:unfortunately this is happening just about everywhere, no matter where you go doesn't matter what age you are either.

OHHHHHHHH Sam how can anyone take offence to you. Sheffield, good grief, have performed at quite a few night spots in Sheffield in my younger days as a singer. Used to go on as the warm up act (singer I mean) before the Stripper and her Python on a Sunday lunchtime session.

Amoreira 123,
Oh dear hope he is ok, I like you was very shocked with the slapping of my friends daughter, whilst I agree we were all teenagers once, I think they should all be aware of the dangers, and I gave my 3 girls a big chat this morning on how they are def not allowed on the beach in the summer late, and said they are sticking to a curfew this year or they will be grounded with Dad and me.......

In response to your question, Michael, they were Portuguese. Young lads, early 20's. It can happen in any town in any country; just unsettling when it happens to your son. Luckily no long term damage - if anything, has taught him to be more aware of what is going on around him.

personally you rarely see things like that coming...I have had family randomly attacked. You can try be on your guard most times but jeeeez it really doesn't take much these days, sometimes becasue you have a different accent (had that happen to me also).

Hi,
Its saddening to hear of these troubles in the village. Iv been coming to the village with my family since well...when I was born. Each year since I was about 14 (im now 23) we keep hearing stories of muggings, attacks etc. Its unfortunate when they do happen in such a nice place.
The description of the drug dealer guy is very familiar. Im sure he was about last year when I was out in July. He followed up quite a bit of the way up the road. Just need to keep your wits about you.
Hopefully Ill be alright next week when we are out.

My boy and his mate were mugged outside a shopping mall on the Costa Del Sol. The place is crawling with Moroccan immigrants (Legal or illegal?) The reason they were mugged was for their wheelies - those trainers with wheels in the heel. I think you only get mugged for a theft or potential theft. Moral: don't be flashy, keep anything desirable hidden, fade into the background - difficult for a teenager!

Re: Info from parents of teenagers
I recommended CVO for a friend's daughter and four of her friends who are currently awaiting their A level results. They have been in CVO for 5 days and I heard from them today. They are having an absolutely wonderful time, they are doing something different every night, they adore the place and love their accomodation (Monte Dourado). CVO has worked out perfectly for them. pat
