Algarvean Portuguese

Post by e-richard »

Need some help with translation please:

Our maid will have been with us for 10 years on July 1st this year. We've bought her a nice gift, and want to include a simple handwritten card saying:
"Thanks for all your help for the past 10 years"

Our Brazilian cleaner here in the UK came up with the following, but I worry that subtle cultural differences may creep in without us knowing. Does this sound OK, or can anyone correct it ?
Thanks.

"Obrigada por toda sua ajuda nos ultimos 10 anos"

Looks OK to me - besides, a little mistake would add charm, like "awwww, how sweet, they put so much effort in and got almost everything right"

Thanks a lot G.

A little mistake would be fine, yes, but I've seen too many howlers when trying to be colloquial, so didn't want to offend.
