There is nothing more sublime and serene than a walk around the neighborhood in the early morning light.

I find it so difficult to comprehend the mentality that doesn't get it and somehow thinks I am disagreeable for preferring the moring.

I agree with you to a certain extent SHOWWWY....do you live in nice surroundings that help to make it so?
I very often wake at around 5.30am...and its just beginning to get a little that time now...I put on dressing gown & wander into the garden..I live in lovely countryside and overlook fields...and now you can hear the 'dawn chorus'..usually started by a blackbird..apart from that..its quiet and the air smells so fresh,clean.....
My late Mama called it the best part of the day..
Yeah..Im warming to your idea.... :)

Thanks, Ellie. Nice to have at least one sympathetic response.

We live on the edge of a small town near Toronto. Unfortunately, development is sprawling even here but there are cattle in the field a couple of blocks away and some nice vistas.

But for me it is the quality of the light in the morning, the freshness of mind and the rest of the world. :)

SHOWWWY...reminds me of that song
Morning has broken..like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken ..like the first bird...
Hope thats right?...sung by Cat Stevens.
Shame about the sprawling development...we have the same thing here in Lincs..and I wonder ..just for how long..i will have fields to view at the back!
We have a songthrush resident in garden..and he often gives us a lovely 'concert' :)
I do consider myself lucky..my bedroom faces east..so when I wake up..I can see the sun rising over the back fields....see the birds...smell the fresh air..and as you say..enjoy that special light...new day dawning......ellie :)
