Poppy's
Poppy's
We have been here a few times over the last couple of months. All inclusive menus for 11.50, 15 and 20 offer good value for money. The fish and chip meal on Friday is excellent. The fish is perhaps not as large as some of those served in the village but the quality is better. Spacious interior, tastefully decorated. Friendly owner . The only drawback is that there has been only one person in the kitchen and service can be slow if you come in behind another party.

Re: Poppy's
I agree with you, it is a nice place, friendly and informal, good food and drinks, but as you say slow at times. Is it still run by the English girl and her partner Lois??
Re: Poppy's
Yes still run by Claire but not much sign of her partner when we have been there. Since she is pregnant I guess some alternative arrangements will have be made soon for the running of the restaurant.

It is in Vale del Rei, which is on the road towards Benagil you then turn off towards Lagoa at the 'astro turf' mini roundabout, then turn right it is signposted Vale del Rei, Poppy's is on the left as you come into the village.
