CB Wine Corner

Post by R.Wethereyet »

A new wine bar has opened in CVO.

Formerly The Angel bar, CB Wine Corner is a small wine cellar that has opened for clients who want to sample and enjoy a selection of quality local Portuguese wines, at realistic prices in relaxed surroundings.

Albeit very small, they serve wines by the bottle or glass from Sir Cliffs vineyard and also from a little known gem of wine producing from a vineyard on the outskirts of Silves, not to mention several special guest wines when available. The wines are served in quality glassware and in a 'smoke free' environment. What a relief.

I wish them well, and know I've now got somewhere I can go and have a nice quality glass of vinho, without having to choke on smoke or Karaoke.

 Sorry, never went to the Angel bar so can you tell me where it is please, sounds nice - except for the Cliff wines, can't stand them, unless they have improved since he started, the first two years were not to my palate.

It's in the Centro Commerical, which is on restaurant hill, the ramp down to it is opposite Happy's and the bar is on the left just opposite Jokers. It does a nice selection of wines and tapas.

CB's has been transformed by its new owners & looks fab'.

Cliffs rose is really nice, I was prepared to not like it just because its Cliffs & all the hype about the Gordon Ramsey incident, but I really enjoyed it & now buy it often.

R.W is the small vineyard you refer to the Barranco Longo vineyard? It is just down the road from us & produces some lovely wines.

Does it? I must find out, we could almost stagger home from there. Has anyone done the Cliff (as in Richards) vineyard tour?
