You can still come in on the old IN road except that you cant if you want to go all the way in and then turn left to go OUT on the old OUT road which had become the NEW " IN OUT ROAD "

You can go " OUT " on the old " IN OUT ROAD " which is not that any longer as it is " OUT ONLY " as far as the turn to the MArket where it becomes the IN OUT road again, except that you cannot go IN unless you are a bus or business owner.

The OLD out road which had become the NEW IN OUT road ( with me so far ) can oly be accessed by taking the left turn on the IN road just before you get to the new part.

You cannot turn right any more and have to follow the arrows which direct you back out of town.

If you wanted to come in on the IN ROAD and turn up the hill past Sullys, you CAN,T anymore as that is now a WAY IN as opposed to a WAY OUT.

I don't see why anyone should have a problem with EMM's directions - after all this works perfectly well for everyone -

CRICKET: As explained to a foreigner...
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!

Perfectly clear in my opinion :D

Everyday I look at the webcam in anticipation of my coming. What I seem to have noticed for what is becoming rather a while now is there is a fair deal of activity but no more progress being made. It looks like nothing has changed in about 2 - 3 weeks now. Are the trees and benches going to be added? Is the fencing with all the equipment inside going to be removed? Can anyone already there that's better equipped to comment than myself please elighten? Thanks very much.

It would be nice to have everything sorted for the Summer season, however, with only going out to CVO two weeks a year and looking forward to the break, as long as the kids can get on the beach for a walk and play at night, and we can sit and have a few beers and wine and relax, and the weather is warm and sunny, nothings a problem. If there is a delay, whats been the problem, is it cost? lack of funds?

We will be out at the end of the month for a few days so I will go and ask around and have a look for myself on the progress or lack of it, will report back after the 3rd June with photos.

THe current phase of the project is out of webcam view, as the "out" road from Smilers to Monte Dourado is being refurbished.

Is there any reason why work on the square itself seems to have stopped? Traffic from the in road and Paraiso, appears to be crossing the middle of the square. Surely that's not the long term plan. The mix of traffic and people looks worse now than it did with the original square.

I think that the traffic will return to outs normal route, left turn past the off liscence once the roadworks on the " OUT " road are complete ( still a few weeks to go ).

Visitors should be aware that the parking spaces on the IN road ( out side of Irish Times ) near the square are reserved for disabled drivers and users of the pharmacy.
Tourists who parked there today thought that there was 2 hrs free parking ( 2 lugares ).
They moved just as the GNR ( ticket book in hand ) arrived on the scene,
BE WARNED. !!!

Not having been yet I am not very qualified to comment but looking at the webcam is there any reason why the square ccannot be traversed beneath cafe matabixo as this seems so much safer for pedestrians and it would look neater.

This is how it worked before the alterations and I expect that is what it will go back to when it is all finished.

I think everyone should just wait until it is finished and then we can all give our opinions then, not much point in all the speculation if you ask me (which no one has  ?) haha

I have a simple question, which may have already been answered months before, but is there anywhere, an artists impression of how the square will look when finished ? I can see people are reffering to trees, so I'm guessing there must be something out there.

I agree with Lesley Jean, there are soooooo many opinions, comments etc, at the end of the day myself and family love coming out to our Villa and visiting the Village, but as far as anything that goes on we will have to wait and see, there will always be someone not liking something and some will love it, but its been done so whats the point of all the moans?

27paul27, go to the photo's section from the home page, and you'll find a link to the pictures I took in January through to March. Pictures 1 and 2 are the representations of the final appearance of the square. Problematically, they are both slightly different, and the one showing the most trees is not the one they seem to be constructing.

Thought the original idea was to pedestrianize the square and keep the traffic away?? Webcam pics are starting to look chaotic with cars travelling through the square over 'pedestrian areas', what is it going to look like when the 'busy' season starts shortly?? Plus they now seem to be taking an inordinate amount of time in finishing off the square??? June is only 2 weeks away!!

What is happening away from the square, similar slow progress perhaps??
