Help Urgent re Ryanair

help needed.
My friend is flying to France witihin the next few days and she has been told she has to pay for a pee. I know it was mentioned the other is week but iis it true or not.
She is here this morning to help around the house whilst I am still flat on my back.
Please help. She is flying for the first time and terrified enough as it is.
howed her the Yorkshite flight ,and she thought it was funny and dispelled some fears, I think!!!

It had been mooted by the Ryan Air boss (O leary?) as something they may consider for additional charges along with other bizarre things like charging people by weight! Don't think either has actually happened and although you never know with those guys is was probably a PR stunt or even April fool joke so would tell you friend not to worry.

No need to worry SJ, they are not charging - yet! However, France is a relatively short hop so unless she has an extremely active bladder she should be OK.

They do however charge a credit/debit card handling fee per passenger and not per transcation Surely this is bordering being illegal as only one transcation is being made to the credit/debit card company

My flights to and from Spain recently were very reasonable with Ryanair at just under £70. However, the true cost came out over three times that sum!

69.96 GBP Total Fare ......... A very good price - if only it was!

87.42 GBP Taxes, Fees & Charges ......... Can't fathom out how they came to this sum. the words rip and off spring to mind.

19.00 GBP Passenger Fee: BAG ......... One in the hold @ just 15kg!

19.00 GBP Passenger Fee: Airport Check in ......... No online saving, not with a bag in the hold.

19.00 GBP Passenger Fee: CC ......... This was a surprise on the very last page. A whopping great nineteen quid for using my credit card!

214.38 GBP Total Paid ......... Reluctantly!

At least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask.

Many thanks for all your help.
She feels a lot better now, however I have advised her to take all her paperwork into one of the reputable holiday shops (if there is such a one) to clarify that all charges both ways have been paid for and that she should not get charged for anything else. She is on an extremely low income with children and we are all trying to make this first flight a good and easy process for her. Her children will stay with her estranged partner- good for him to learn how and what it takes to do to look after a family on ones own in todays society. If it flops we are all taking it in turns to look after the children so that she can visit her parents who too are financialy constrained and so that it will give her a much needed break away from home life, and everything to charge her extremely depleted batteries.

Not at all surprised to hear this! - we flew once with Ryannair four years ago - never again, they conned us into paying excess baggage on the way home when we had less baggage than we took out!!! The staff must have had a personality bypass, they were dreadful! Will never fly with Ryannair again.

The Ryanair customer service philosophy is if you don't like it don't fly with us. I have adopted their advice.

Not sure Id want to fly with Ryanair again. On our return from Dublin to Humberside we had a terrible landing. The plane hit the runway with a loud bang and seemed to skid....we all held our breath as it finally came to a halt. Some bright spark called out "I think he needs a few more lessons"!

Thats SO annoying. Its like when you get charged a booking fee per ticket for concert or cinema tickets instead of one per transaction - and what fee? I buy them online - its rubbish. If buying for a group everyone says the cost of the tickets so whoever pays ends up lumbered with x * booking fees!

In fairness Ryanairs Captains and First Officers are as experienced, if not more than any other airlines. Also, sometimes, weather dependent it is more appropriate to "hit the ground running". Bright sparks are not so bright as to fly the plane?

M O' Leary has achieved his mission with the old charge a £ for the loo. Its all about publicity and that is exactly what is has got. "£5 per emergency exit chute"?

That is the point......
