Probably - "one man's meat is another man's poison" - as the saying goes.jimmyp wrote:not quite so great if you are a Rocha Brava resident! Are we going have to start a fight now?!
Hopefully Jimmy, those who signed the on-line petition for ADM will do so for you if required.

Well done Hal, great result, I can't thank you enough, maybe we can now get the Camera to tidy the land up as compensation for the stress, y'know, call it the "Folly Garden"
.
I too will willingly contribute to any costs you've incurred in the fight, keep in touch.

So pleased you've had such a great result
But if it is going to be up near Rocha Brava lighthouse, Im not very happy as its always been one of my favourite spots to walk

What is wrong with you? Have you had a sense of humour bypass? I had thought that your attitude had changed somewhat since your reinvention from TBBR, however I can see I was wrong and you are still narrow-minded and rude!EMM wrote:Very funny " HA HA " I don,t think.
Personally I am pleased that I wont have to view this monstrosity from the garden and well done those of you who worked so hard to get it moved.
Ellie I know what you mean about the walk along the cliff tops, but I am sure it wont obscure the view too much.

Of course you don't EMM. How on earth could anything be funny to someone without a sense of humour?EMM wrote:Very funny " HA HA " I don,t think.

Boo Hoo you are a sensitve pair . I sorry I took you to task for making fun of some one less mobile than you.
Ellie we hope that it is not built near the lighthouse either.
Idealy it should be on top of one of the existing structures such as the water towers, expensive but of little inconvenience to anyone else.

Wherever it goes it will find objectors to the proposed location, but putting it on the ADM was the most stupid decision ever made, right slap bang in the middle of a housing estate c'mon! Thanks to the tenacity of the neighbours and friends led by Hal, it didn't happen, the alternative location sounds fine to me, at least you wont be able to see it from your bedroom window.

Except for the people who have villas to the side of the lighthouse!!!
There are some very big ones near there, I can't imagine they will be too happy about it. There must be enough land in the middle of nowhere where this can be built.....

I agree with you Lesley! As you say, I don't think people with holiday villas/apartments would be too happy!
If the tower is built up near the Rocha Brava lighthouse, it will spoil the whole 'ambience' of that lovely wilderness.
When we lived out there we often took our lunch break up at Rocha Brava ( we did work on the site at times, mostly repairs).
Its such an unspoilt site and I would often find a tree to sit under and just relax and listen to the sound of the sea...wonderful
Oh lord, Im getting nostalgic now and long to be there........

The old winery between Marinha and Albandera would be more suitable and high enough for the purpose it is going to serve. I believe it is also camara owned land.
Re: Carvoeiro's new 40 mtr military com tower
I can see the winery from where I live and I seriously wouldn't be happy if they put anything there. We already have one near us by O Rustico so why put another one just up the road?

Whats a NIMBY???
Being a bit NIMBY myself, I wouldnt like to see such a mast on the beautiful clifftops near the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself adds to the ambiance of a beautiful stretch of coastline. A comms mast would seriously detract from that.
The problem is that if a mast HAS to go in east of Carvoeiro, its bound to upset someone.
