Do they serve drinks on board? Im not bothered about wine/beer or what ever (its afternoon flight) ... i always carry a small bot.wate with me..I mean tea/coffee ?

Yes they do Ellie but they have stopped selling peanuts because they made a mess on the floor and it took longer to turn the plane round. Why they couldn't pass a vacume cleaner up the plane so passengers can clean up their own mess!!

Hi Ellie, hope you have a good flight with Easy Jet, we use them from Bristol as it is our nearest local airport. They are fine, as has been said before very basic, but comfortable. This time of the year we don't have a problem but I would rather not fly with them during the summer months, it really does get like a cattle market. Since they stopped allocating seats, you need to get to the airport at least two hours ahead if not three!!! to get a low 'security number' the first 30 get the first chance to get on the bus or walk to the plane, there is alot of pushing and shoving by people who are desperate to get seats together. So by the time you get on the plane you feel exhausted.
Hubby travels a great deal so during the summer we use up airmiles and travel in comfort

We are out in Cvo next week so hope flight and weather are good.

..just read all your info...and you say get there up to 3 hours before take-off?
Im famous for getting lost.and never been to Stanstead before....as Im flying alone, hus& son are thinking of putting a label on me..with name & return address

Think Im gonna be biting my nails for next 2 weeks.....so if Im not amongst first(30 is it?) ..I could be walking to plane(gawd..how far?)...will I really have to fight for a seat

...Im needing more re-assurance please ?

Really no need to get nervous Ellie. They don't issue more boarding cards than seats available. Its simply a first come first serve for baording, and if you're on your own, then why worry about finding a seat next to someone who isn't with you

I've used EasyJet from Stanstead a couple of times now, and its really quite painless. They have now started a service from Gatwick. I got seats for £6.99 one way

(although by the time you add tax and a return it does add up).

Thanks Richard just what I was going to say.
Don't worry Ellie if you are travelling on your own, or at this time of the year, it only gets 'mad' during the school summer hols. Bristol is renouned for a scrum just before boarding, sure Stanstead is much more civilized!!

When I travell alone it is great, you can sit where you like, it is just when I have hubby and two grown up daughters with me it gets a bit more exhausting, we do like to sit somewhere near eachother.
Have a lovely time, I will try not to use all the sunshine up!!

It has been a few years since I travelled alone and thats probably the main reason Im feeling a bit insecure.
However..I shall bear in mind all your good advice...fingers crossed and hope all is ok on the day!

yes Lesley..be sure to save some of that lovely sunshine for us who follow you out...I know its Tricky first(I think) then Loretta then me..boy are we gonna need it after the rain & gales here :roll
(Hope garden plans are going well Lesley!)

dont forget to take your own toilet paper with an easyjet flight..they sell it from the galley.....but it can be a bit difficult to ask if you forgot especially when your using the outside toilets

Ellie - I totally agree with other postings on this topic - you shouldn't have any problems with easyjet. We have flown with them EMA to FARO a couple of times and are booked to do so again early July (can't wait to be in Carvoeiro again!)

We recently flew with Easyjet to Barcelona - we were a bit late checking in and were in the last block of 30 to be called for our seats (numbers 90 - 110) it was fine - in fact quite civalised and all 8 of us managed to sit fairly close together. Sandwiches, snacks and drinks (hot and cold) are available to buy but fairly pricey so I suggest you take your own or buy from Boots at the airport! Towards the end of the flight an orange bin liner is passed along the plane for you to put your rubbish in - the turn round between flights is so short that I am sure this is the only "cleaning" that takes place - just check that you are choosing a clean seat before sitting down!!

We fly on July 9th with our two young daughters - I'm pretty sure that last time we took them to CVO we were allowed on the plane 1st because of the children - does anyone know if this still happens?

Anyway Ellie - I'm sure you will be ok - enjoy your holiday - I wish it was me!!

Thanks Mansie...must say it all seems fine judging from all your comments..and Ill do as you a& Mike suggest...about buying sandwiches from Boots/or having little snack before departure.

i don't know what the inside of a planes loo looks like(or the outside ones

)..never having used one..noticed on last trip to Algarve..some folk are up& down all the time!
Wonder why?..is this how some folk while away their time

I know that was a joke Mike but just in case there is anyone who doesn't know, the reason no planes now do peanuts is because of the risk of anaphylactic shock. All planes serve no food containing nuts and all their processes now take place in a nut free environment.

Obviously there are still nuts on board but they are usually to be found amongst the staff and passengers!!!
