The Sqaure - So i'm going to ask this....

We were out Feb 27 - 4th March and I took some photos of the progress over that time, I know someone else has already put some on just thought you might like to see an update on that.

Thanks I must say it did look like a lot of work still to be done altho' the owners in the area are still hoping it will be finished for Easter with the roads finished by July !!! we wait to see.

We were there this afternoon, its a real hive of activity with not just the square works but also the extension to Patio all adding to the fun and chaos.

The fun continues, cars coming down hill on the old out road finding their exit route no longer available and then making a U turn to go back up the hill resultant queues of cars in all directions.

Then the tour buses arrive, finding their usual stopping place in the square gone and parking at the bottom of the out road to offload.
Add to this drivers ignoring the no entry downhill on the old in out .

If you want to pass a few hours watching the antics of tourists, expats and locals buy a drink sit in the sun and have fun.

They have now dug up the bottom of Rua do Paraiso (the western up road) so there is no access from the square. This means that this morning a van needing access had to reverse all the way down Paraiso. Longing to see how the whole thing works on completion!

On three different occasions I have had to turn around on the old in road because the passage was blocked so yesterday, when I saw a car driving the opposite way I thought I would do the smart thing and follow suit.
As soon as I got to the barricade at the entrance to town the police jeep swings round the corner and the officer politely asked what the heck I was doing. I told him there were cars driving out this way so I figured the passage was blocked but he said it was not and that I should please turn my vehicle around (the road was right there and I would have been out in a flash but noooo, I had to go all the way back into town to take the other road!).

That taught me not to tempt fate by playing lemming on Friday the 13th.

Nós ainda não sabemos quando os trabalhos vão terminar, porque as autoridades não nos informaram. Só sabemos o que ouvimos de uns e outros a comenta, dizem que terminarão no final deste mês.
No entanto vamos tentar saber com a Camara Municipal de Lagoa se realmente têm um prazo de conclusão.

Yeah, it might be, but it is entertaining in its interpretation, yet at the same time it's able to convey the meaning of the comments. I think it's cute.
