Post by Derrick & Rebecca »

How frequent/reliable is the local bus service to nearby towns, ie., Silves.

Thanks

We've taken the bus into Portimao and it's dead simple, clean and comfortable. They do go round the houses a bit but you get to see some different sights.

Hi Gang,
With the downturn in world economies I am re-evaluating the need to have a rental car sitting outside the door for two weeks in the peak of summer. I do need one for the golfing trips and winter sun but it tends to sit outside the door unused during the lazy days of July / August and I was wondering would this bus from Carvoeiro to Lagoa stop at Intermarche to allow us to do our shopping ??

I'm confused brucie boy from the timetable the bus is running constantly both ways throughout the day every few minutes. Are you telling me that this is not the case or are you just being your usual bubbly self sending peoples thought processes off in the wrong direction    Me thinks the latter  From experience I always seem to get caught behind this bus at the lights before Intermarche so it does run but the question is will it stop if i put my arm out or will I be collecting said arm down at the square after I taxi back into the village

I think I would take the bus to Lagoa and have a mooch around, possibly lunch. Then walk to Modelo (as was) do the shopping and get a taxi home.

Does anyone know the cost of a taxi to Lagoa / Silves from Carvoeiro?
