Is there an Ikea type store near Carvoiero

Hi all,

Is there any Ikea type of store near Carvoiero. Got to buy everything from crockery, sheets and towels to BBQ and Ikea would be ideal but nearest one in Lisbon.

Any ideas very welcome. Or how long to drive to Lisbon?

There are planty of places, Start at the Portimao shopping centre ( on the 125 ) Big Continente, Movifloor,AKI, De borla and a towel/linenshop.
Then go to Algarve shopping, Leroy Merlin, Conforama and many smaller shops.
In lagao and at pera, Linen shops .Sofa Vip etc etc
Big furniture shiop at Val d paraiso on the way to Albufeira.

Its great fun. enjoy it

If you have a Makro card then try the Makro store next to Leroy Merlin at Algarve shopping centre.

Also an Ikea in Seville over the border.

Try Conforama at the retail park at Algarve shopping.
Also prato gato (black cat!) in Algarve shopping does lovely soft furnishings reasonably priced.

There is another option.....
Buy all your stuff in the UK. Collect it together then ship it all out together. There are very good carriers who do the trip to the Algarve on a 2 or 3 times a week basis.

The problem we found was that in Portugal, as in the UK, there is often a lead time of 10 or 12 weeks for major items like suites. If you are out in Portugal, or have someone who can take delivery, fine.

We found it actually cheaper to take advantage of deals in the UK, and to ship stuff out.

Not a cheaper option but I remember somewhere on here someone was advertising to go to Lisbon and fetch your goods from Ikea and then put them all together for you in your home (for a fee obviously!).

Ikea will also deliver anywhere in Portugal from their Lisbon store. Details are on their web site but you have to contact their courier to get a price.

Catalague seems the same as UK so work out what you want and then check the euro price and stock availability on their web site.

Just my 5 penneth.... there's an IKEA in Seville too. We once flew into there and drove to Lagos - think it took about 3.5 hours. So you could have a day out in Espana! (petrol is cheaper there too!)

My daughter got quite a lot of stuff from Ikea in Seville; we got ours from a variety of places, SofaVIP, Conforama, Moviflor, lights from AKI and IZI, the only thing I find quite expensive here are white goods, mainly washers/dryers etc. AND we did ship some stuff out from the UK, it all depends on what you want and what your individual taste is. Yorkshire Linen is really good for bedding quilts towels etc and cost wise on par with UK. Hope this helps.

We bought a kitchen in Ikea Lisbon last year, hired a van (on internet from Europecar) and drove down in about 2 1/2 hrs on the motorway.

We paid extra for the one way van hire but could then returned it to the Europcar office in Carvoeiro.

We got some extra kitchen doors and fittings in Ikea Seville, it took about the same time to drive, check insurance on the Hire car as it costs extra to cover driving in Spain.

Both Ikeas are easy to find.
