Jota Lita
Jota Lita
We ate at Jota Lita one night in January and whilst the food and the cover were very good, the bill was quite a bit higher than we had expected to pay. We hadn't checked out the cost of the house wine which elsewhere had been between 4.5 and 5 euros for half a bottle - here it was 6.10, and the coffees were 2.90 each for a normal white coffee which was much higher than we paid elsewhere.
So enjoy your food but watch the cost of your drinks!

how much you pay for your drinks in England? Don´t you think the restaurants have to earn at least something with the drinks. The prices for the food they have to buy have risen extremely - wouldn´t you complain if some restaurants were selling for example filet etc. for the "real price" - that would be one portion corresponding to the price of one kilo = 25,- €?!

E2.90 is a lot for coffee, E6.10 for a 1/2 bottle also sound expensive but 1/2 bottles always are more than 50% of a std 75cl for some reason.
I admit I rarely if ever check the price of coffee on a menu but would not order wine without knowing what it costs.
Suggestion for the Restaraunt forum an idea of costs , ie 1Eu. 3Eu and so on.
It could give us an idea of what to expect if places like the Fatacil are the base , 1Eu.

World's worst waiter
Myself and five others ate at Jota Lita's last night and really enjoyed our meal, but felt very patronised at the manner of one of the waiters (who, judging by the love of his own voice, may be the restaurant owner).
The man, who is about 50 years old, insists on chatting up the women at each table, offering a series of well practised one-liners, designed to flatter, but which succeed only in annoying all (especially when he is heard using the same patronising lines to the women at other tables).
Whilst that alone to be forgiven as a misguided attempt to increase his tips, his manner when speaking or listening to me (or my other male friend) was extremely rude.
Because of the ineptitude of the waiter in question, the fact that we had to point out we had been overcharged by 9 Euros and that we had to wait 15 minutes (and ask 2 waiters) for tomato ketchup for our chips, we will not be returning, but will instead go to the vastly superior Agale and Ele & Ela.
