Burmese Cat with bright blue eyes found
Does anyone know if there is a cat or animal sanctuary near here?
A cat resembling a dark siamese with blue eyes has turned up on my doorstep in the vale do Milho area, looking very thin and lost, I think it was obviously someones cat rather than a stray as it wants constant attention and tries to get in the house all the time.
I can't look after it myself as I have an allergy to cats.
Can anyone help?

Hi There,
Thanks for the helpful info on animal rescue, the cat is now at the Refugio dos Burros in Estomber, Tel. 962 633 811. The lady in charge there says the cat is a castrated male, and thinks he is a Burmese.
This cat is very friendly and craves attention, if anyone feels they could give him a loving home, I'm sure they would be rewarded with lots of affection from him, he just wants to be someone's cat again!

Burmese have yellow/gold eyes but other than that he looks very like a Burmese, he's the same colour as ours. They make fantastic pets & ours is 20 years old now, if she wasn't so old & we hadn't just rescued 2 dogs I'd give him a home like a shot. I wonder what happened to his family. Any idea of age?

Just a thought, did anyone think to take him to the vet to see if he had a microchip fitted before sending him to the sanctuary? Perhaps Nan's staff do this, I do hope so as it sounds as though he is someones pet and missed. Maybe the owners don't have access to this Forum. I have always found an advert in the Resident or Portugal News is a good way of finding owners of lost pets or a message put out on Radio Lagoa etc.
Let's hope the story has a happy ending. Silkie
