Christmas gift/bonus for maid and gardener

This will be our first xmas living out here and was just wondering what most people give their maid or/and gardener for xmas. They both only come once a week for 3-4 hours so not full time. Should I be giving an xmas bonus or would a gift be acceptable.

Our maid would be insulted if we gave her less than €5000.

For 3-4 hours per week? Erm, can I come work for you?

Standard bonuses usually amount to an extra monthls salary for holiday bonus and another extra salary for Xmas bonus.

The maid has only been with us a few months so I feel a months extra salary is an awful lot to give her. Do you really think this would be what she'd be expecting?

Alright no messing about now,give them each a Tangerine,a mince pie and a Brussel Sprout,theyll be over the moon,well made uPS Im glad i dont have a restaurant you come in to!
