Golf Pro needs a game of golf

Post by westygolfpro »

Hi All,

Any golfers out there would like me to make up a fourball anytime.

I want to keep my own game in shape over the winter.

Drop me a line to arrange.

Thanks,

I am part scot but with even the best advertised rates getting close to
£50/round and others close to £150 holiday golf may soon be restricted to the local crazy golf.

EMM, would be interested to know where you can get Golf for as cheap as £50, discounted of course, I am talking March time which may be different to when you would like to play.

DEC, JAN and High summer are the when the best deals are available( but no longer good value ).
Anyother time it will be just too expensive to play

We played Silves/Morgado last month for average 55Euros/round.( £50 )
Last August we could play morgado for 35Euros ( £28 @E1.25 ).

It will be interesting to see how the courses react to any drop in business.

Does our Pro have any info,

Maybe we could have a CVO forum Golf society ??

We only come out in March, sometimes October if we don't go to Ireland. I was aware of the differing deals at various times of the year, but not really much good to us, I have booked 3 different courses for next March at an average (discounted) price of 65 euros a go, which at the way things are going will be well over 50 quid a game, c'est la vie

Hi All,

Leave it with me and I will see what can be arranged. I had a good chat the other day with the Golf Director at Pestana about playing their courses.

I will explore some more.

Good luck with Pestana - 3 weeks ago I tried to book some tee times for mid February and the courses are pretty much full already - on some days they are totally full - so much for a lack of demand!

FEB is peak season for Northern Europeans wanting to play in decent weather.
UK golfers will have booked their trips some time ago.

I'm very interested in the way this thread is going as 12 of us are coming over 18th June for 5 nights golf, now we have booked everything ourslves so far, flights, car hire and villa total being £220 so far and we are thinking the best way to book the golf (looking at 4 rounds) would be to contact the courses we wish to play directly in say April where we are hoping that the courses will possibly be suffering from the economic downturn and may give us top deals for a party of 12. Do the guys in the know think this may be a good idea?Westy any thoughts?
:?:
We notice that Pestana had on their website a 3 round package for June 08 Gramacho/pinta and either silves or alto for 95 euro and are hoping to get something like that this year,I also have a friend head pro at Pinheiros Altos whom should do us a good deal so we are hoping to do 4 rounds for circa £130.Only downside would be the ale pricing if the pound v Euro stays as it is although a mate who works in Finance markets reckons it will be back at 1.30 by june.....I am not too confident tho!

Hi Dodger,
You can check out Richard Ballingtons site on http://www.algarve-golf.co.uk/ for discounted golf packages, and your mate in the finance markets may be in the wrong job.

Hey! Westypro, here's a business oportunity start your own golf society and sus out all the reasonably priced courses and send out PM's informing punters of the offers, plus accomodation and food, you've got twelve members already who've booked and don't know what they're doing.
