Restaurants open New year's day

Post by Patricialondon »

I wonder if anyone could recommend a restaurant open on New Years Day.

We will be spending our first New Year in Carvoerio having recently bought a villa in Solferias.

My daughter is a vegetarian and loves Ele and Ella but I am not sure whether they are open - certainly there is no reply when I ring.

Thanks very much for your help.

I love l'Orange - we have had some really good meals there - I suppose everyone has different tastes!

Thanks for your comments anyway.

Our favourite is O, Salmao at monte Carvoeiro, it has a good base menu plus daily specials. Not the cheapest but the best we have found so far.

I thnik that they will be open over New year until the 3rd ?

We are planning to take Bruce to L'Orange next year to educate him

He must have gone to the nearby restaurant Le Bitter Lemon

O'Salmao will open for New Years Eve, and 1st and 2nd January. At least that was the plan the last time we spoke to Christina.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when you do that Roy!

(oh no, I'm not suggesting that there are insects at L'orange)
Still one of our favourite restaurants.

We are (likely) going for a Chinese on Boxing Day with friends. I won't tell you which one - I like it nice and quiet.

I've been trying to get H to go to L'Orange for years, we've heard/read so many mixed reviews that I'd like to try it for myself, but H took against it on sight - why? It looks very nice from the outside, strange man. :?
