just been to brazil for first time, many places are like armacao de pera, high rise rich living on top but at street level its children sleeping on streets...very sad to see...loads of folk seem to live by selling knick knacks on street....also amazing I could only find one place to buy a cup of coffee in!! no coffee shops no bars anywhere!!

Best place went to was rio..very nice and our local pao acucar supermarket gets its name from the famous mountain that overlooks rio

However I noticed that within this great city of rio is a place not unknown to many of us yes its called lagoa

I have just come back from a cruise to South America and loved Rio. We were lucky enough to have good weather, and the views sailing into Rio were fantastic. Our excursion round the city and to the 2 mountains were one of the highlights of the trip (along with a visit to a ranch in Montevideo, Uruguay, and a visit to a tango club in Buneos Aires).

Excuse me gents but they go out and kill some of those poor young children in Rio to keep the streets clean. Some of the boyos who do it are dressed in blue. Hope you enjoyed your hols..... and got some nice souvenirs
