We have just been to visit our new apartment at Monte Santo which we purchased last year after our visit to CVO and loved the place.Can't wait to return on a regular basis Monte Santo is a 5 Star Resort and is a fantastic base for a great holiday.There does seem to be a feeling the locals were not impressed when it was being built what do people think now it's opened. welcome to the site.
our place is opposite Monte Santo and whilst we were a bit disapointed that the resort has blocked our hankerchief sized view of the sea

The resort does look good, but it will be interesting to see what impact it has on the area when it is full in summer.

One question though, Glass Balconies ! does this mean you have to get dressed and put your make-up before you can venture out on it in the morning

Is that the resort that has the gun turret guarding the entrance? Not sure if it's to keep the yokels out or the grockles in.

Ps i have 17 Terrapins that i need a home for - they are house trained and get on well with Children, Yokels and Goldfish -does anyone want one? I'd prefer to leave them in pairs as they can get somewhat lonesome As i have 17, if i get homes for 8 pairs - the last one will be on the menu in L'Orange.

I think I remember reading an article that terrapins are a controlled animal in Portugal due to the damage they cause to the environment when irresponsible owners release them into the wild when the don't want them any more. Maybe worth talking to a local vet about them, or maybe Zoomarine?
Talking about them being on the menu, the Japanese restaurant in Albufeira has terrapins in a tank in the conservatory, I told my daughter that you could pick your own to have cooked as you can with lobster, she was horrified.

The last batch of stray terrapins mentioned on this site, were finally homed in the pool at the entrance to Rocha Brava. May be worth approaching RB management to see if they would take them. There is another ornamental pool in Rocha Brava, if the one at the entrance is too small for the number of terrapins. That would save No.17 from being cooked!!

No negatives regarding Carvoeiro and surrounding areas as far as I am aware and I have been coming out for the last 20 years and have owned a property for 6. Can't wait to get back.
