hi! having just bought an apartment in Carvoeiro we want to go to Ikea to furnish it, any idea of the price of delivery from Ikea in Seville for this or is it cheaper to hire a van?

Sorry, don't know the answer to your specific question, but there's a classified ad running in The Resident from an enterprising individual offering a service of "shopping trips to a well known Swedish Store in Seville". May be worth a call.

We installed our new Ikea kitchen last week (well almost - the joiner is finishing off work top etc.). Having checked costings at the time it was, in fact, cheaper to buy in the UK, have delivered to our UK address and ship out with other items. We have driven to Ikea in Lisbon and it is very easy to find, but given the distance from both Lisbon and Seville I would imagine delivery charges are quite expensive and that a day van hire would be better.

I'm not sure how prices compare with van hire but I would have thought it worth paying a premium to avoid having to queue in Ikea. Also when you find the broken piece or can't find the missing screws they will sort it for you on their next trip rather than having to drive back yourself

Knowing IKEAs penchant for losing essential bits, this seems like a good idea.

Like Dave, we used the shipping out from the UK option, but then we were also shipping out a hell of a lot of other stuff.

Seville is quite an easy option, as you can see the IKEA on the left as you drive in through the outskirts.
