Sesmarias Country Club
Sesmarias Country Club
Does anybody have any info of here as we are sampling the delights that the algarve has to offer based at said location but it seems like all others are mentioned apart from this one and I was just trying to establish as to why this is the case.
It does exist but it isn't a country club. There are no sports facilities, bars or restaurants it is just a quiet development of modern detached villas built on a hill with views towards the monchique mountains and the sea at Portimao.
The original developer, a Norwegian, ran out of money 12 years ago and sold off the land as individual building plots. Most have been built on now and the community comprises Dutch, Portuguese and British residents.
It's a five minute walk to Sesmarias which comprises shops, restaurants and a bar mostly frequented by the locals although the restaurants are becoming known more widely. The golf courses at Gramaco & Pinta are 5 minutes by car.
Hope this helps!

Hi
we going to stay at villa 6 but decided to stay in Sesmarias proper.
We did drive past villa 6 in the S.C.C abd I would say it is a 10 minute walk to the village. Rosas Bar is a mixture of locals and ex-pats and is very friendly. Oh and 2 euros a pint
For a nice meal try the Island Cafe at Presa De Moura; quite posh but good value.
We also ate at the Rodrizio (brazilian Restaurant), near Carvoeiro Tenis Club. It used to be called Originals.
The food there is absolutely fantastic and all the meat is carved at your table. Very family friendly but make sure you take your appetite with you as the 'all in' meal includes steak, turkey, chicken, pork rice, salad etc etc fo about 16 euros.

Hi
The island Cafe would take about 15-20 minutes walk but a 3 minute drive from villa 6.
The Rodizio, formally Originals is about a 5 minute drive.
Head towards sesmarias and take a right where donatos restaurant is.
As you drive down it is sign posted at the roundabout. Head twards Carvoeiro tenis club.
Trust this is ok
snaj
Ps we plan to come back next year
