Post by BONDI »

Can some one who have applied for this license, or got one tell me how easy or difficult this process is or was? Do you know if you need to renew this license every year? what is the procedure for renewal etc? How much does this license cost? How long did this procedure take. Has anybody got license from Silves CAMARA ?

We are doing one in Lagoa and one in Silves. Bit delayed due to paper assembly but we do not envisage any problems. On delivery of all papers the Câmara stamps receipt of same and that is it. Of course the Câmara hasa the right to take a look at the property but we doubt they will generally speaking. Our information sheet says "... if, within the period of 60 days following receipt of the requested licence, a Câmara inspection reveals any deficiencies, these will be corrected by the client at his or her own cost without any liability to Sovereign - Consultoria Lda or alternatively the “licence” will be returned to the appropriate Câmara"

OK :D

The race is on to get the first private villa licences based on the new, new, new, new, new law from last March that was ammeded in July...

I have yet to hold a licence in my hands, but the odds are good that we will see one soon...... if the law does not change.

Nothing yet, but you can expect this to take a bit longer.
As everything closes in August, September is needed to work off the back log - I did not expect to hear anything at all before mid/end October.

Why would you say Silves Camara is cheating? I think at last they seem to be getting their house in order. Lagoa used to be good at this kind of stuff for years. OR is it Just plain MIRACLE. or am I missing out on something here. What is delaying your paperwork? Or have you NOT yet got to Lagoa Camara? Please enlighten us with your views.or your application process experience with Lagoa Camara

What I was referring to is the speed and efficiency of the two cameras being noticeably different. the general feedback I get from Silves based people is that Silves seems less complicated than Lagoa - but that may well be subjective.

One thing is certain, Lagoa will have thousands more applications to deal with as the council has a much more dense tourist residence population.
