WE have had bad meals there too Downdie. But in defence of the restaurant - the owner is German and he is married to a Thai lady and all of the staff that we could see in the kitchen are Thai.

Frankly there are just too many other restaurants in and around CVO where we can get good food and pleasantly served at a sensible price to bother returning. viz I have not eaten at O Boteca since 2000.

e-richard - I was just confirming what Downdie had said about the owner being German. It was no comment on the service. However he has waited on us and has been very pleasant.

He is a portuguese who lived in germany, to be precise (provided we are still talking about the same thai place here....it is the only one in town as far as I know).

Although I still cannot fault the kitchen and the food they served last week, I have to agree tha the staff waiting the tables is is totally inapt for that job.

must admit after last year, gave it a miss this year, infact I dont think I would ever go back.

I was very disappointed! I love thai but this was the worst thai meal I've ever had. The staff were very rude too!!! The waitress more or less threw our food on the table. It reminded me of faulty towers- only not amusing in anyway!
