Building works in and around Carvoeiro

Hi everyone, this is my first post on the website and wonder if anyone can help. We are coming to Carvoeiro (for about 6th time) in a couple of weeks and we are on the verge of booking a villa today. However we visited in April for a short break and the whole break was ruined by the fact that I wasn't told (and I forgot to ask because we have never encountered it before) about the MAJOR building works in front of the villa! The villa was near mateo serrao?
Can anybody tell me if there are any areas to avoid where there are major building works? This building works was about a 50 villa complex and remarkably the villa owner even had a brochure for it in the villa!!
Was looking round Vale De Milho, Centiannes area or Sesmarias?? If anybody is around who knows - and can respond quickly this would be much appreciated.

Vale de Milho runs down to Centiannes and as an established area is generally quiet. As you will see from a separate post there is currently a small development on the northern edge of VDM but after much hectic initial activity it has been quiet of late. When I spoke to someone I know who has a property nearby he said that the developer or the building company was Spanish and had hit financial problems. I don't know how true this is but the site is currently shut up.

There is more building work over the Sesmarias side of town but you can encounter infill building in many places. I am sure if you post details of any more specific choice of location some one will know the score or could check up for you.

Reputable rental agents should disclose significant building work near a property.

Thanks Steve, don't know where I am staying yet. We had it all sorted and then the agent backed out on us so we are now trying to find somewhere.
