Spill your secrets about beaches !
Spill your secrets about beaches !
I am in Carvoeiro for 3 weeks, starting yesterday (3rd August), it might well be a crazy question, but is anyone prepared to spill their secrets about a possible peak season slightly quieter beach off the beaten track ? I have a car.
I realise its a tall order, but with hundreds of miles of beaches, it must be a possibility to find one where we get to see the sea when sat on the beach !!

Try Salema, it's the other side of Lagos and takes about 30 minutes using the motorway. Very unspoilt and as you can see from the web cam, you can see the sea. http://www.portugal-webcams.com/Salema/ ... lgarve.htm

This happened to Turkey. I returned home in 1987 after a great holiday (LOOk HERE) and told everyone . . . and now it's full of pikeys!e-richard wrote:There's a certain irony about this topic: If we were to publicise our favourite quiet beaches and too many people read about it, then the beach would no longer be a secret and uncrowded

Okay, here goes
drive to olhao, (about 15 mins past faro on same motorway)
follow the signs for the port and park where you can.
pay the two euros return ferry price to Armona island.
enjoy the trip for about 15 minutes. follow the path past the two restaurants and three shops, in fact just follow the crowd. the walk will take about 15 minutes but will lead you to a beautful beach with the warmest sea you will find in portugal.
There is a large sea inlet before you reach the actual sea, where you can walk for ages and the sea doesn't come past your knees. large fish swim there as well.
stay for an hour or two and then walk back to the ferry landing and have lunch at the fish restaurant on the right overlooking the sea. then
sunbathe directly in front.
if you have older children they will love jumping off the pier.
There I've told you now, but please keep it to yourselves.
