Via Italia

Post by Mike,Chislehurst »

No ones had a gripe about this one for a while but an update on anyone who has been recently would be welcome. We had some guests early May that rated it (3 times) very highly. Hopefully it's fine and back to it's best albeit I can't remember when that was

Friends went this week & were not impressed at all, thought it was quite pricey for what they got, basic pasta & sauce dish. They said that it was ok just not somewhere they'd bother going back too.

Food was quite ordinary - I had salmone tortellini, the wife had lasagne and my daughter had prawn spaghetti.

The food was good but not exceptional.

We went through the summer holidays and it was awful. There was 3 adults, 1 child and an infant in a high chair. We were squeezed on a table that should have really been for 2, the highchair was propped across the corner and my son couldnt reach the table to eat his food. The waiter struggled to get round the high chair, thus passing hot food over the top of my sons head. We had 3 Lasagnes which was poor to say the least, 1 mixed grill and 1 arrabiatta. We all had ice-cream to finish. 2 half bottles of wine, 1 beer and 2 fruit juices. It came to 135Euros which compared to every other restaurant that we went to, was ridiculous. On average we paid between 65 and 100 Euros, and usually had starters, inc better food! So sorry, definately not rated in my book!

I think the reason no one has talked about it in a while is because everyone I have spoken to would never go there again. Hence nothing bad to say about it...
