Fights in carvoeiro

The last time I was in Carvoeiro the music in Sully's was perfect - if you were sitting at Smilers's

. Actually we went into Sully's & sat at the bar we left in the end because the music was too loud, the barmaid couldn't hear us across the counter & said that the owner made them play the music that loudly & they had to wait until he had gone before they could turn it down to a level that they could hear their customers orders.

Smilers Blue !!! I was going to bed in April heavily sedated by alcohol and was still listening to it "and I'm in Monte Dourado"

well... they can't please everyone, and it's normal when new owners take over the locals always have something to moan about!

I moaned about Sully's before the new owners took over I never thought much of it, always thought it was a bit like drinking in a cave & no terrace, but I liked the people in there. No good though if you can't hear what they're saying.

like i've said i really enjoyed the music, the athmosfere, the 'new' locals, it's more modern, maybe that's the reason there's more younger people drinking there than before, that is really one damn fine cave

Well you know what they say "if the music's too loud...."

It's not like there aren't plenty of bars in Carvoeiro, we've all got somewhere to go.

Not going to shoot you here, do not worry.
I think what many of us do not like is the loud drunken obnoxious behavour, fowl language, music loud ,I mean LOUD, for the sake of it in order to get more people to go where sound is in order to make themselves look and feel bigger, not just the clients but also the people running the joint. My parents are ex licenced victulers and I grew up in the pub spectre and I realise the way the bar is being run is to bring in as many punters as possible regardless of what type they are. They are tending to deal with the lower end of the market there now and those that yes do not really notice or care where their money goes. Remember I mentioned read between the lines in regards to what else is being sold on show there.
Yes the bar is in full view of the GNR but if it gets ugly there, it will be on display for all and sundry to see.
I myself love loud music in its place, (some will say no need for loud music)and drinking outside, but I do not agree with the way they now can sit on the bar stools on the pavement edge and the bar window now opened there to sell booze in that position. An accident waiting to happen.It is heading for an almighty crash

Baggy, I tend to find myself caught between a rock and a hard place here. I adore the village it is my "real" home and when I fly back to Ireland I leave a bit of myself behind. I most particularly love the people and its craic and I also appreciate what it takes to make a business work so I am very reluctant to criticise anyone trying to run a bar in the village, especially being somebody who does not live there but I really do hope you are wrong and the village does not start getting a bad name from it. I must agree that the spillage of people (whatever about alcohol

) out onto the street is a danger !!!!!!

I actually don't mind loud music (I singiin a rock band myself) but I must admit, with our apartment in the centre of CVO, if the musinc starts distubing me until the wee hours of the morning being the Welsh lady that I am, I will take a Baseball bat to the sound system!

That's what I was saying Robbie, sadly I'm obviously too old.
I actually want to hear what people are saying because I have to say (well I don't but I can't resist it) there's not much to look at.
