Last year in September I went into my kichen and was faced by a prospective thief trying to get through the window, the window frames are double glazed and have a tilt function, which was the position he found easy to open, I hadn't locked them, a big mistake, remember if you leave them in that position make sure you lock them. when he knew he'd been spotted he ran away, I went to the front door and he'd disappeared, I jumped in the car and drove around the estate, I caught up with him about 200 yards away, he saw me, I wouldn't tackle him, I'm too old for that, I went to reception and phoned the police, they arrived ten minutes later and asked for a description, I said, he looked Potuguese or Spanish, which they thought hilarious for some reason, obviously they didn't catch him, I returned from the reception area and saw a bicycle chained to a lampost nearby which I assumed may have been his, no action by the police though, they couldn't care less, there were other incidents later that day.

There is a thief on a bike in Carvoeiro clube. He works with some people in a small white car. They are around, whereever he is...just not on the same street.James Faro wrote:A thief with a bike?
That is a bit like Starsky & Hutch racing through the mean streets on peddle scooters!
Good piece of advice and well-done for chasing him; least it shows you are public spirited.

Well.........i knew a person once who got robbed on the street and he fought back; boy did he fight back! He got a caution and the robber got more than that!!!!!!!!!! I don't think he would rob again quite so willingly!Globetrotter wrote:There is a thief on a bike in Carvoeiro clube. He works with some people in a small white car. That's the problem with the UK nowadays, if these scum of muggers and burglars got a taste of their own medicine, and it was the law, they would reflect what they did: reflect in wheelchairs and plaster of paris - even better- a concrete overcoat!
