Maid advice please

Post by Ann-Marie »

We have recently purchased a villa in Carvoeiro that has been rented out regularly for some time. We have continued employing the same maid and taken on her same hours and rates of pay. We pay the maid 250 Euros per month + social security and this is paid 14 months a year. She works 5 days a week 2 hours per day.

My family now stay in the villa through all the school holidays and we are letting the villa out less and less and feel that a maid is no longer required every day just for us, and perhaps twice a week to give the villa a good clean and change the bedding would be more realistic. And of course through the winter months we feel that there is just not enough work for a maid every day when the villa is not let out at all, and still paying for her.

Can anyone recommend a trust-worthy and reliable maid or a company that would come in and take on these sorts of hours, or are we best to keep the maid going that we have?

Thank-you for any help and advice anyone can offer!
