Quinta Do Paraiso

Post by janesexton1873 »

hi

we are visiting Carvoeiro in late April and staying on the Quinta Do Paraiso complex. Just wondered what it is like , how far from Carvoiro and if there is some bars and restaurants within walking distance, although we have hired a car.

Hi

It is about 15 mins walk into Carvoeiro or 2 mins in the car. Its a lovely walk though, although harder on the way back up the hill!!
There is a Italian restaurant on Quinta do Paraiso which is nice. There is also Monte Carvoeiro about 5-10 mins walk away which has some lovely restaurants and a cocktail bar whisch is very popular.
Hope you have a good stay.

I'm not sure if the reception area will be open but there's crazy golf and some swings round the back for the kids. As an alternative to the town, you could try O Escondidinho. It's an easy walk from QDP and is a "bums on seats" establishment. Very basic but good value for money. Probably cheaper than eating in.

Reception area and everthing seems to now be open, as is the little shop.

The swings and slide have gone behind the restaurant as they have made a new terrace area! Apparently they won't be putting them back anywhere which i think is a real shame as it is family resort and it is nice to have a little play area. You would think the restaurant would like that sort of thing by their new terrace as it would encourage more families to eat there!!
