Prague
I know many of you here are well-seasoned travellers and I was wondering if you had visited the City of Prague?
I am actually asking for my daughter. She marries in May and they are thinking of going to Prague for honeymoon.
Is much English spoken /will they manage ok regarding language? also what sort of food can they expect?
Ive looked at the website on Prague and it looks a beautiful city and one steeped in history.
Have you been there?
Thank-you, Ellie

Hi Ellie
Haven't been there yet but am going on 5 March for a long weekend, I expect that will be too late to help your daughter make a decision but should she decide to go anyway, I'd be happy to report back after my trip.
It does look lovely and is infact the European City least affected over the years by either war or natural disaster, hence it has retained many old and beautiful buildings. There are some great websites to look at which give you the cultural and historical "must sees", plus there is a website charmingly titled 'PissedinPrague" which a provides a guide to that other thing Prague is now famous for - the stag weekend!!

I've not been lucky enough to go to Prague, but recently organised a 40th birthday trip for two friends who had a wonderful time.
I got a really good hotel deal through a travel company to the 4 star
Hotel Savoy (it does have a website but you may have to put it in search)
and booked flights with BMI baby. The photo's they brought back
were fantastic!!
Let me know if you want any contact info.

Prague
Went to Prague for a 4 day break in October 2 years ago and loved it. We were not expecting to see so many ornate and beautiful buildings - lots of unexpected colour. Several sightseeing 'trains' trundle round the city and are a good way of getting from one side of the river to the other without walking your socks off. Loved the concerts of all types going on everywhere at all times of day - one occasion when people handing out flyers can be useful.
Food wise - don't go for anything with horseradish - it'll blow the roof of your mouth off ! Found some excellent restaurants and discovered ice-wine - Highly recommended - just close your eyes at the price when you try to get it back in England !

My daughter and three friends went to Prauge last year for four days, it was in March. It was very cold so take plenty of warm clothes. The food was wonderful, she is a vegetarian and was worried she wouldn't find anything much, but they had a wonderful time and the food was great, some really nice restaurants, and not to expensive. Hope your daughter and new husband have fun.
