Coming back to CVO...info please

Post by jellobiafrababe »

Coming back to CVO in a few weeks time, 23rd March to be precise.
I have a few questions..

We are staying at Colina Sol aparthotel, we stayed there before and it was ok. Have the renovations finished does anyone know? Any major chnages there over the past couple of years?

Where are the best places to park in CVO centre when we come into town for meals etc? WE had HUGE probs parking before so must admit I gave up after a while and went elsewhere with parking. :(

We arrive on a sunday. I know most supermarkets close at lunchtime then. What time does Intermarche close on a sunday?

We are looking forward to a break away as we have had a difficult few months to say the least. So rest and relaxation are the order of the day! 8)

Thanks all!

I live near Colina Sol

Rennovations were finished last year. Dont ask me what its like inside, but carpark already weeding over.

Parking situation just as bad as ever!

Im not sure whether Intermarche closes at 1 or 5 on Sunday....sorry

There is a new Modelo just off the roundabout between where you get onto the 125 after coming off the moterway, and the Lagoa lights. Worth a look without going too far out of your way.

Enjoy your break.

Thanks folks! Well hopefully the plane will be on time and we can have a quick dash to get some basics before the shops close!

Thanks again!

Hi

We had friends who stayed at Colina sol in Novemebr and they said part of it had been renovated but the room they were in hadn't, but they were happy enough with it.

Plus just by the Lagoa roundabout is open till 4 on a sunday but a couple of the small shops in Carvoeiro are open later so you will be ok to get a few supplies.

We live here and have never really found parking that bad. In the square it is obviously busy but you will always find a place somewhere on the out road or the other option is the road that goes up behind the Carvoeiro sol hotel. It is a bit of a steep hill though but I always get a space there.

Hope you have a nice trip.

Intermarche and Modelo close at 1pm on Sundays, Plus is open until 9 or 10 pm, but I think March 23 is Easter Sunday so they may all be closed all day

I think Plus have the same opening hours every day - they were definitely open when we drove past about 5 or 6 o'clock yesterday

There are 2 Alisupers open until fairly late on Sundays, the one by the main entrance of Rocha Brava and the nearer one to you at Colina Sol next to La Bella Napoli pizzeria.

It is Easter Sunday so will anywhere be open? I would doubt it very much unless someone knows any different?

I don't know for sure, but I would expect the Rocha Brava one to be open.

The supermarket down by Bella Napoli will be open. Ive never known it close except for Christmas Day, and a short holiday.
That area between Posha Brava, (the Centiannes Brit ghetto) and Colina Sol, is Sol Algarve.

Hi again! So the final conclusions are that as we are arriving on easter sunday (Good planning Anne!!! ) the only shops likely to be open are the wee Alisuper type ones? That is fine, just get the basics to keep us going a couple of days.

I take it that restaurants etc will be open all over Easter?

Either that or we stack our case with loaves n butter!!!

Thanks all who replied :)
