Air Conditioning

Post by gamalpass »

Hi
Is there anyone out there that can tell me that if a villa has NO air conditioning is it likely to be really hot and uncomfortable in the evening. I see that the majority of villas at Clube Atlantico have no AC and as we were thinking of booking this July/August wondered if this was going to be a problem?

The Algarve isn't as bad as the Med. at night because the Atlantic cools the breeze.

Thanks for that. The last couple of years we have been over June time to avoid the TT here, but this year with one thing and another just havent got round to booking the annual hol. June time the evenings have been quite nippy but know its a lot warmer at the height of the season.

We don't have air conditioning, just electric fans and we have always found these have done the job in the summer. Some nights we haven't even needed these. Most portuguese villas are built to be nice and cool during the summer months. I really wouldn't worry too much about it.

having said all that , i have been in the middle of cvo in june and not been able to sleep at night for the intense heat and humidity , a lot of the older buildings in cvo are built for earthquakes and not comfort , and can be uncomfortable in the summer months , but i could by biast ,and as such am offering to rent portable air conditioning in the summer months for clients of apartments or villas for a reasonable fee , call joe on 960311718 :x :x

Our villa for July 2007 had AC in the Lounge and the main bedroom only. Our two boys shared a room and needed a fan blowing all night and even then, it was too hot for them. The outlaws , oops, I mean in-laws were also too hot in their room but had a door to the balcony which they left open at night to let the breeze in. This year we have booked a villa with AC in the lounge and all 3 bedrooms. At least you have the choice to use it or not. Personaly, I would look for accomodation with AC.

Cheers

Steve :)

It really depends on the villa. Some get hot in the summer, some stay cool. Our house is still very cool in the summer and we've never needed a/c, but then its a lot cooler than some in the winter too.
